Mrs. Mubarak accepts presidency of Arab council for children, youth's books

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak accepted the presidency of the Arab council for children and youths books which came at a recommendation of Arab delegations.
Arab intelligentsia and representatives of non-governmental organizations called on Mrs. Mubarak to accept the presidency of the council.
During the preparatory meeting, Mrs. Mubarak called for setting up an Arab council that would promote books directed to Arab children.
She added that the council's membership would be expanded to include all Arab first ladies.
Addressing the founding meeting of the Arab council for children and youth's books, Mrs. Mubarak has said that setting up this new Arab body marks a new phase of working for promoting Arab children's culture.
This council should work for providing Arab children with the best knowledge, said Egypt's first lady.
She added that the council should inspire heritage to support Arab identity.
This meeting aims to foresee a bright future for Arab children and set up an advanced Arab mechanism for boosting Arab children and youths, said Mrs. Mubarak.
She described as model the Egyptian experience in building real partnership between governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Suzanne received the golden medal of the Arab League for education, sciences, culture organization ALESCO and the trophy of the Yemeni higher council for childhood.
