Iraqi pilgrims transported to Saudi Arabia

Two Iraqi civil planes took off on Tuesday to transport the Iraqi pilgrims heading to the Saudi Arabia, without a prior notification of the UN.
The Iraqi minister of transport Ahmad Murtada Ahmad Murtada told journalists that there is no need to inform the UN about the civil flights and in particular those which carry a humanitarian nature. He explained that there are no UN resolutions which ban flights of this sort from and to Iraq.
Eye- witnesses said that the two planes which belong to the Iraqi airlines took off from Baghdad, boarding 254 passengers.
Worthy mentioning at in December 1999 the UN Security Council permitted the transport of pilgrims to Mecca but under the precondition of a prior consent before every flight.
