American and British representatives suspend Iraqi contracts

The American and British representatives at 661 Sanctions Committee suspended 83 contracts for agriculture sector, which Iraq signed under Phases 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the oil-for-food program, INA reported. Agriculture Minister Abdul-Ilah Hammed told the Iraqi News Agency that these contracts included spare parts, veterinary vaccines and needed requirements for agriculture sector, adding that "the US and British representatives use premeditated flimsy pretexts to block Iraq's access to necessary needs for agriculture sector in Iraq, " the report said.
