Al-Hariri denies American, Israeli claims on terrorist camps

Lebanon has strongly denied the American and Israeli claims on that there are camps for training terrorists in the Lebanese al- Bekaa area.

In an intervention he made at a debate held by the Lebanese parliament to discuss the state budget 2002, al-Hariri said that what was stated concerning terrorist camps in the Bekaa and negotiations to transfer al-Qaida organization to Lebanon, is just mere lies and groundless.

He added that the campaign aims at undermining "our national principles and our relations with Syria and then to provoke a problem between us and the US." He stressed that Israel will not succeed in its attempts, because despite the differences in the view points regarding certain issues between Lebanon and the US there is a continued dialogue with the Americans on the ground of reciprocated understanding and friendship.

He renewed Lebanon's commitment to the Arab states unwavering stances and to international legitimacy resolutions especially UN resolutions 242, 338 and 425.

Al-Hariri also criticized the unlimited American support to the policy pursued by the Israeli government. A support manifested in green-lighting Israel to continue liquidation of Palestinians, demolishing their houses.
