Regional, Sports, 2/4/2002
Egypt was eliminated Monday from the quarter-final of the African Nations Cup (CAN-2002), currently held in Mali.
The Pharaohs of Egypt were squeezed out by the indomitable lions of Cameroon (0-1). The victory goal was scored in the second half by Patrick Mboma.
The Egyptians were the last Arab team to leave the African Cup after fellow Arabs Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia were humiliated and rolled out as early as the first round.
Cameroon joined Mali(the host country) and Nigeria in the golden four (semi final). Senegal is yet to play tonight against DR Congo.
