Iraq to reactivate dialogue with EU

An Iraqi political delegation is projecting to visit Spain shortly to reactivate Iraqi-European dialogue, The official news agency reported.
The Iraqi cabinet council okayed the dispatching to Madrid, current chairman of the EU, of a delegation as requested by the Iraqi foreign department.
European diplomats had earlier said Iraq was seeking to hold high level discussions with the EU on the embargo imposed on Iraq since 1990, and cooperation with the union.
Russian prime minister said Saturday in New York that Moscow was upbeat over the alleviation of the sanctions on Iraq and the return of UN armament inspectors to Baghdad.
