Kuwaiti minister resigns over oil field fire issue

Kuwait's minister of oil Adel al-Subeih announced on Saturday his resignation on the ground of the fire which flared in al-Rawdatin oil field to the north of Kuwait and claimed the life of 4 persons.

In a statement, Subeih said due to the human losses, I found that the political responsibility I shoulder makes it imperative that I have to submit my resignation to the prime minister.

He added I do not know the reason of the fire. It is a technical responsibility and mine is political that I bear through submitting my resignation. He said he had formed two committees to investigate this matter.

Within the same context the deputy chairman of the Kuwaiti oil foundation Nader al- Sultan announced that his country announced halting all its oil gas exports for enforced conditions after the huge explosion which resulted in damaging a foundations for collecting gas.
