Lebanese information minister denies British Times report

The Lebanese minister of information Ghazi al-Areidi has stressed that the news issued by the British daily " The Times" that there was an attempt to transfer "al-Qaida " Organization activities to Lebanon is a fabricated news and of intelligence circles sources aiming at putting pressure on Lebanon.
The Lebanese minister added in a statement to the London- based al- Sharq al- Awsat daily issued on Saturday that such fabricated news aim at pressuring Lebanon and distorting its image, noting that Israel is making a large campaign against Lebanon to this effect and it is not ruled out that such news to be among the numerous claims and allegations aiming at accusing Lebanon of conducting terrorism.
The Lebanese minister stressed that Lebanon is clear in its position towards terrorism and all its extremist forms, besides Lebanon is ready to cooperate with all sides to withstand terrorism especially the Israeli political, physical, intellectual and security terrorism conducted against the Palestinians.
