We are keen to choose best elements in military

Egyptian Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi General Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of Defence and Military Production said that the Armed Forces is keen to lay down very accurate bases and criteria for choosing the students of military colleges and institutions, in order to settle on the best possible elements from the cultural, health, and physical points of view.

Field Marshal Tantawi said that "we are keen that such elements would enroll all categories of the Egyptian society, governorates, either Muslims or Christians, being one fabric of the Egyption socity.

He pointed that the Armed Forces is keen that the military community be an honorable model within the Egyptian society that represent the noble values and distinguished performance.

The minister pointed further that the role of the Armed Forces in the comprehensive development is constant, from the surplus of its human and material potentialities, in an expression of gratitude towards the Egyptian people.

He added that the Armed Forces always develop its performance, in order to become powerful and capable to face challenges.

These remarks were made during the ceremony marking the end of the military preparations for the 2001 batch of the students of military colleges and institutions.
