Moratinos calls for meeting ambitions of Palestinians to build an independent state

The European Union Middle east special envoy Miguel Moratinos has called for meeting the legitimate ambitions of the Palestinian people to building their own independent state.

In a statement to the London- based al-Hayat daily issued on Friday, Moratinos said that the Palestinian are in need of a political initiative that can meet their legitimate ambitions to building their own independent states besides easing down the situation in the battle field.

Moratinos renewed the commitment of the European Union to cooperate with the Palestinian self- rule authority. He called on the US and Israel to support this authority, rather than weakening it.
