Authors of bank hold-up in Sale arrested
Morocco, Local, 2/1/2002
A gang who committed on Monday a hold-up in a bank in Sale, Rabat's twin city, and ran away with 600,000 Dirhams (about US$ 52,173) was left with no time to enjoy their loot as police arrested them the day after.
Three of the gang members, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested and confessed their crime, while the fourth member is still on the run. The gang leader was wanted as he was among a group of inmates that fled recently the Kenitra prison.
The reconstruction of the crime took place Thursday morning.
The culprits drove to the bank in a stolen car and threatened the bank's employees and customers with two sabers and a rifle. To impress them more, they even shot at a wall and broke the Bank's front window, before running away with the stolen money.
