Three Palestinians were shot by the Israeli forces

Three Palestinians were shot on Thursday, two of them in an operation which targeted an Israeli armored vehicle near Ghoushe Katieve settlement in Gaza. The Israeli forces arrested a female Palestinian youth ( 15 year old) when she tried to stab two Israeli soldiers near a military barrier in the " French Tel " in Jerusalem.

Thousands of Palestinians in Ramullah held a symbolic funeral for the Palestinian woman Wafaa Idrees whose body is still kept by the Israeli forces.

Meantime, the Israeli forces continued breaking into the Palestinian cities and villages. The Israeli tanks incurred in Elamaari camp near Ramullah while other tanks incurred in Gaza and its suburbs. The incursion was met by violent clashes of the people of the city.

Meanwhile, the Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres said he will be meeting in New York the chairman of the Palestinian legislative council Ahmad Qrei'. News reports said that the meeting will be held under the patronage of the international economic forum which will be held this year in the US.

Several weeks ago Peres and Qrei discussed a plan for resuming the negotiations and Qrei said that it is not a plan, rather a sort of understanding.

In Washington, the US secretary of state Colin Powell said on Thursday that the US does not lose the hope in the Middle East.

News reports quoted Powell as saying following his meeting with the Jordanian King Abdullah in Washington that the US will not give up hope and will continue to work with the Palestinian and Israeli sides with a great share of balance for reaching a solution. Powell also considered the question of the weapons ship intercepted by Israel in the Red Sea recently as a matter which added great complexities to the situation.

Powell added that the American envoy to the Middle East Anthony Zinni is ready to return back and will return back to the region when Washington decides that matter have become under control in a better way concerning violence.
