Morocco-USA, Business, 1/31/2002
Morocco's carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), has received the first of the two Boeing 767-300 FR it had purchased.
The second plane is likely to be delivered to RAM end of February.
The purchase of the two aircrafts is part of the company's modernization plan and the restructuring of its Middle East and North America networks, RAM President-Director-General, Mohammed Berrada said in a company's release.
The USA and Canada bounds will henceforth be serviced by more up-to-date planes, offering a high-level frequency, he said.
The Boeings 767-300 FR will start servicing North America as of next May, with four weekly flights towards the USA and two weekly ones towards Canada. The flights will be increased next July to six weekly ones towards New York and four towards Montreal, pending the servicing of daily flights part of a code sharing with the US Delta airlines.
