France initiative between Israel and the Palestinians

The London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat said on Wednesday that France has handed the US, Israel and the Palestinians proposals it had given to the European partners aiming at making it a European initiative to find out an outlet for the peace block between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
The French proposals concentrate on two main principles. The first is to organize elections in the Palestinian territories and the second is to recognize the independent Palestinian states as a starting point for the march of reconciliation.
The French proposals also proposes different formula for the elections but set a precondition for organizing it, the pullout of the Israeli forces to the positions which they had on September 28, 2000.
