Washington warns Egypt on armed ship

The US has warned Egypt it will launch an open confrontation with it if it will doubt the involvement of the Palestinian Authority in the question of the smuggled weapons ship (confiscated by Israel) and the relation between the Palestinian Authority PA with Iran and the Hizbullah.

The Israeli radio said on Wednesday that American sources explained to a high ranking Israeli official that the American administration conveyed this warning to the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher after the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak expressed his doubts concerning this issue.

The American sources said that after this warning the Egyptian officials stopped raising this issue in the Egyptian mass media.

Today, President Mubarak denied that US president George W. Bush had criticised Egypt over the ship Israel alleged to have been carrying arms for the Palestinian areas.
