Morocco renews readiness to contribute to Maghreb construction
Morocco-Maghreb, Politics, 1/30/2002
Morocco is entirely ready to bring a positive contribution to the Arab Maghreb Union construction, said in Mauritania Monday justice minister, Omar Azzimane, who was talking at the opening of the Maghreban ministerial session on legal and judiciary affairs.
Azzimane also renewed Morocco's willingness to contribute to the setting up of UMA foundations and actively participate in the legal and judiciary affairs council session, particularly in the particularly difficult international juncture.
He urged judiciary bodies of member countries (Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia) to give a concrete meaning to democracy, the rule of law, consolidation of population's confidence in institutions and the supremacy of law.
The session looked into several Maghreban conventions in judiciary and legal matters, mainly a convention on judiciary training institutes. Participants also examined difficulties hindering implementation of the legal and judiciary cooperation convention, the convention of trade arbitration and another convention for a Maghreban center of legal and judiciary research.
