Iraqi minister describes visit to Tehran as positive

The Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri al-Hadithi has described his visit to Tehran and his talks there he held with the Iranian leaders as positive, He stressed the efforts made by the two sides to maintain good neighborly relations among themselves.
In statements he made on Tuesday after he returned back to Baghdad, Al-Hadithi said to the press that he had felt in the talks he held in Tehran the desire in the Iranian side to continue efforts with the Iraqi side to dissolve so far left problems between the two sides.
Al-Hadithi who headed for Tehran on Friday met with several Iranian leaders including several Iranian leaders and among them were the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami and the foreign minister kamal Kharazi.
On the other hand, and in the context of their consultations on Iraq, the US diplomatic mission in Geneva on Tuesday announced that the US and Russia will next week hold talks pertinent to sanctions imposed on Iraq and to continue discussions the two sides had started in December 2001 in Moscow to this effect.
