European official highlights Syria's cooperation

A European official, asked not to be identified said in a statement to the London- based al-Hayat daily issued on Tuesday that the Syrian government shows some cooperation to the efforts to fighting terrorism, noting that Syria is diminishing its support to certain " terrorist organizations."
This official who recently visited the Middle East region said " we," actually do not make any pressure on the Syrian government in this regard so far.
He added that European- Syrian relations are good, but differ slightly from one country to another, he indicated the visits held by President Bashar al-Assad to each of France, and German, noting that the British government extended an invitation to President al-Assad and " we expect him to fulfil this visit" at a time to be agreed by the two sides.
On the other hand, the European official stressed that Lebanon will not be exposed to military strikes within the western campaign against terrorism because the Lebanese government shows cooperation in the area of fighting terrorism.
