Saudi Arabia, Politics, 1/30/2002
The Saudi daily al-Watan has unveiled measures taken in Saudi Arabia over freezing assets in response to resolutions issued by the UN and the UN Security Council including lists suspected to be involved in suspected financial operation besides subjecting persons to monitoring by security circles.
The paper did not disclose the volume nor number of accounts that were already frozen in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, nor the identity of persons who are monitored by the security circles.
The paper stressed quoting the participants in the first Asian regional meeting on cooperation between sides involved in laws enforcement and banking foundations which started works on Monday in al-Riyadh, stressed that there are a bunch of recommendations to be debated during the meeting aiming at organizing works of the charity societies, restructuring them and filling any gap implementing their works that might be conducive to " capital leakage " for illegal sides.
