Sudan - Iran economic cooperation talks

Minister of Commerce Mohammad Shariatmadari in Khartoum on Tuesday held talks with President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir on economic cooperation between the two countries, IRNA said.
Shariatmadari briefed the President al-Bashir on the outcome of his talks with Sudanese officials and Iran's capability of exporting technical and engineering services to Sudan. He said that the two countries enjoy high potentials and Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to supply Sudan with a major portion of its requirements, IRNA added.
The Sudanese president referred to the latest international developments and said that Islamic nations are expected to reinforce solidarity adding that the economic cooperation is the prerequisite for Islamic solidarity. He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has achieved progress in engineering and technology know-how and called for sharing experience with Iran in science and technology, IRNA said.
Meanwhile, Shariatmadari held talks with Sudanese Minister of Energy and Mining Ahmad Awad al-Jaz. He hoped that the upcoming meeting of Tehran-Khartoum joint economic commission will explore the grounds for economic cooperation, IRNA reported.
