Ebeid receives Indian Parliamentary delegation

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid received on Monday an Indian Parliamentary delegation headed by the former foreign affairs minister currently on a visit to Egypt.
Emerging from the meeting, the Indian official said the two sides discussed means of boosting bilateral relations in various fields in light of the distinguished relations binding the two countries.
He added that the meeting took up the current situation between India and Pakistan.
He said Ebeid stressed the necessity of holding dialogue between the two countries as regards the Kashmir issue and that settling this problem would come through negotiations and not military conflict.
Responding to a question on Indian stance regarding the conditions in the Palestinian territories, the Indian official said India has a firm stance towards the Palestinian cause that is the necessity of implementing the international legitimacy resolutions issued by the UN Security Council.
Moreover, People's Assembly Speaker Ahmed Fathi Sorour on Monday received the Indian delegation.
Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee Mustafa Al-Fiqi and Indian Ambassador to Cairo Satnam Jit Singh attended the meeting, and Sorour explained to the delegation the latest developments in the region and underlined his keenness on not giving the Indian -Pakistani dispute any religious nature.
Sorour called upon the two parties to resort to peaceful means to reach solutions to all pending issues.
