Statue of Late President Nasser to be placed in Cuba

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid agreed to set up a bronze-made statue of late President Gamal Abdel Nasser in Cuba, said Local Development Minister Moustafa Abdel kader on Monday. The statue will be placed in the garden of the Cuban Institute for friendship among peoples decided to set up to group statues for the prominent African leaders.

Abdel Kader said Nasser was chosen for his prominent role in the national life and for his backing of other countries.

He added that coordination between Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher and the Cuban embassy in Cairo has been underway to set a data for raising the curtain on the statue.
