Mubarak and Bush discuss in a telephone conversation ways of containing volatile situation

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak yesterday received a telephone call from US President George Bush during which they exchanged views on the volatile situation between Israelis and Palestinians.
They discussed the results of those developments. Presidents Mubarak and Bush agreed on the need for reaching a solution that secures containment of the situation and the need for exerting every possible effort to maintain stability of the region.
The two leaders agreed to sustain consultations, expressing hope that underway efforts would achieve positive results.
President Mubarak stressed that sustained waves of violence would have their dangerous implications to the Palestinian and Israeli peoples and to the future of security and stability of the region.
Ari Fleischer, the White House spokesman said conversation between Presidents Mubarak and Bush comes in the framework of intensive contacts between the two countries for discussing the deteriorating situation in the Middle East.
He said the two leaders underlined the importance of stability and peace to the region.
