Al-Shara confers with Brekhodko on deteriorated conditions in the Palestinian territories
Syria-Russia, Politics, 1/29/2002

The Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Monday received Serjy Brekhdko, the advisor of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and members of the accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Mrs Siba Nasser, the deputy foreign minister and foreign ministry officials concerned and the Russian ambassador in Damascus.

Discussions dealt with regional and international developments and the grave deterioration in the occupied Palestinian territories as a result of the brutal policy pursued by Israel. A policy which proved failure in attaining any sort of security for Israel.

Al-Shara reiterated the call for a more effective Russian role towards the causes of the region, stressing continued developments and strengthening of Syrian- Russian relations in all fields.
