Sudan, Politics, 1/29/2002
The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has stressed that it was agreed to convene the pan conference on national reconciliation in Sudan by the end of February in the presence of all Sudanese groups, noting that there are great efforts between the two countries of the initiative ( Libya and Egypt) in order to coordinate with all sides.
This was expressed during the meeting held by the Sudanese minister and the secretary general of the Libyan's people's general committee for African unity in Libya. The executive steps of the joint Egyptian- Libyan committee were discussed as well as measures taken by Libya and Egypt for convening the pan Sudanese national congress.
Ismael added that his country is committed to the joint initiative on the ground it is the most appropriate to settle the Sudanese question. He stressed that attaining a comprehensive solution depends on the desire of all and that his government is making efforts with the two countries of the initiative ( Libya and Egypt) to provide a success for the pan conference.
