Egypt-Australia, Economics, 1/28/2002
Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi held talks yesterday with a visiting Australian official to discuss bilateral cooperation in the petroleum sector.
The Australian Minister of Agriculture, Sciences and Resources expressed his hope for increasing cooperation with Egypt in the field of natural gas liquefaction, especially as his country is willing to share its extensive experience and technology.
Fahmy said following the meeting that significant recent finds of natural gas in Egypt and an ambitious export policy have encouraged many foreign gas companies to invest here.
