Moussa did not rule out visiting Iraq again

The secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa has not ruled out the possibility of his coming back to Baghdad prior to the convening of the Arab summit, but he noted that there is not, yet, plans on his agenda to visit Baghdad.

As for developments towards the Iraqi issue, Moussa said that discussing ideas he had heard in Baghdad continues in depth and is being now made at highest levels. He explained that this matter is not dealt with perspective of optimism, nor pessimism, rather in the framework of serious discussions, in the context of the international legitimacy and in light of Arab decisions approved by the recent Arab Amman's summit conference, in the context of the grave conditions in the region.

Moussa said he will be meeting shortly with the secretary general of the UN Kofi Annan to discuss several issues including the question of Iraq.

The Arab League chief, on the other hand, denied that the assassination of former Lebanese minister Eli Hobeika to have an effect on the convening of the Arab Summit in Beirut.
