An operation by Palestinian female kills 2 Israelis, 190 wounded

A Palestinian female student from al-Najah university carried out a "martyrdom" operation in the downtown of west Jerusalem resulted in killing two Israelis and wounding 190, many of them were seriously wounded, according to preliminary news reports of Sunday evening.

The commander of the Israeli police in Jerusalem said that the explosive which was used in the operation was strong and was carried out near Sbaro restaurant at the crossroad of Jafa and King George streets, noting that several persons were killed, while another Israeli police source said that two israeli soldiers were killed.

Meantime, the Israeli tanks bombarded the city of Khan Younis by missiles and the Israeli warplanes F-16 carried out provocative raids in the atmospheres of the West Bank and Gaza and this horrified greatly the citizens..

Meanwhile, Israeli political sources threatened to escalate their military action against the Palestinians and held the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat responsible for the Jerusalem operation which was claimed by Hamas Movement as one of Hamas's leaders Hassan Youssef stressed that this "Martyrdom Operation is a retaliation to the Israeli practices against the Palestinian people."

While the Palestinian Authority had condemned the operation, the Israeli forces arrested three members of the Palestinian police at the entrance of al-Assara village and transported them to the Israeli jails. The Israeli forces also arrested the Palestinian Mu'aid Ibrahim from Afeel village in Toulkarem under the pretext of resisting the occupation and also arrested two other Palestinian youths near tel Katief settlement to the south of Gaza as the two were doubted.

The Palestinian police evacuated the former civil administration building in the city of Bethlehem and released several Palestinian prisoners from the prison of the building of fears of possible Israeli strikes, while the Palestinians of the Arabs of the territories of 1948 in Araba town to the north of al-Nasera demonstrated in protest of the Israeli besiege at the West Bank and Gaza.
