Jordanian Islamic labor front party elections

The Islamic labor front party has completed the election of members of the Shoura council in 22 of its branches in Jordan. They are 120 members.

The party's executive bureau on Sunday called on the new members of the 4th Shoura council to meet on next Friday in order to elect its leading commissions including the post of the secretary general of the Islamic labor front party.

Party sources expected that the current secretary general of the party Abdul Latif Arabeyat will be elected while it is rumored that Arabeyat will be elected as the observer general of the Jordanian Muslim brothers group.

The sources said that beside electing the President, the Shoura council will also elect the council's office and then members of the executive bureau which is composed of 13 members, besides electing the new secretary general. The sources stressed that this new secretary general will the party's press spokesman Hamzeh Mansour. The Shoura council will also elect the supreme court of the party which is composed of 6 members and the central court is composed of 5 members.

During the two past weeks, the party's 22 branches had elected its representatives for the Shoura council with the majority of them won the elections. Women's sector in this party won 6 seats in the council while the great share was for the moderate reformist trend, whereas the extremist trend had receded.

Among the most prominent who won the Shoura council elections of previous members are Hamzeh Mansour, Jamil Abu baker, Ishak al-Farhan, Humam Saeed, Ali Abu al-Sukkar, who is the chairman of the anti- normalization committee and also Abdul Latif Arabeyat.
