UAE mediation between India, Pakistan

President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan on Saturday evening called on India and Pakistan for self- control. This was expressed upon his meeting with a special envoy delegated by the Indian prime minister Atal Vajiani.
The UAE news agency said that the Indian envoy handed over Sheikh Zayed a message from Vajniani relating to developments of conditions between India and Pakistan. During the meeting, Sheikh Zayed stressed the need of the two sides commitment to peace, wisdom,self-control and constructive dialogue in order to attain security and stability for the peoples of the two neighborly countries.
He added that wars do not solve problems among countries, stressing the readiness of the UAE to exert every possible effort to attain rapprochement and reconciliation between India and Pakistan.
