A Somali tribal leader has stressed that the fighting among the warring tribes in the southern and central Somalia started to recede after war lords had reached an agreement on cease fire.

News reports quoted eye-witnesses as saying that hundreds of warring tribal men clashed in Moudoj district in the central part of the country during the few past days and this resulted in the killing of 45 persons and wounding of many others most of them are civilians, adding that other 20 persons were killed in Shabilla district to the south part of the country when fighting erupted by the beginning of this week between two fighting tribes on the rights of grazing.

The eye-witnesses explained that the fighting extended into 10 villages near Jalakayo town, near Makadishu and that the people of the area fled from their houses as a result of the heavy reciprocated bombardment.
