Iraqi delegation in Morocco to rally more support
Iraq-Morocco, Culture, 1/26/2002
An Iraqi Delegation made up of civil society activists and politicians visited Morocco earlier this week, part of a tour in some Arab states to rally further support for the Iraqi people.
Head of the Iraqi delegation, Hamid Said El-Amine, voiced appreciation for Morocco's support to the Iraqi people. He said the Mps and the representatives of the political parties, trade unions and ngos they met have all renewed their support to the Iraqi people, hailing their resistance to the embargo imposed on them 11 years ago.
The Moroccan interlocutors voiced readiness to help alleviate the embargo-caused sufferings endured by the Iraqi people, and emphasized Morocco's constant stand over the Iraqi issue, Hamid Said El-Amine said at a news conference in Rabat Wednesday.
He added that the Moroccan interlocutors have also pledged to initiate moves with friendly European political parties and trade unions to foster their awareness of the situation prevailing in Iraq.
