Members of the Moroccan Sahara association meet French ngos
Morocco, Politics, 1/26/2002

A delegation from the Moroccan Sahara Association met Friday in Paris members of the French section of Amnesty International.

The delegation briefed the section members on the situation of Moroccan nations detained in camps in Algeria.

The delegation is paying a several-day visit part of an international campaign to liberate Moroccan servicemen and civilians detained in Algeria.

The delegation members already met with officials from the international federation of human rights leagues (FIDH) and the French human rights league.

The FIDH officials informed the Moroccan delegation that they had applied for a visa to visit the Tindouf camps (south-western Algeria) to see the situation of the Moroccan nationals detained by the Polisario separatists. They added they have been waiting for the visa, but received no reply.
