Preliminary investigation in Hobeiqa assassination discloses the identity of the booby trapped car

Current preliminary investigations to uncover the side standing behind the assassination of Lebanese minister former minister and parliament member Eli Hobeiqa uncovered the plate number of the car used in the assassination operation.

Lebanese judicial sources said on Friday that this matter will help achieving good progress in the investigations, noting that the explosive used in detonating the charge is so advanced and its power has not been identified yet.

The sources said that this sort of explosives is basically used for detonating armored cars and that the car of the late minister was not armored. The sources added that " professional sides" stand behind explosives as such.

To this effect, the Lebanese daily Daily Star said in its Friday's issue that minister Hobeiqa stressed he had recorded the information he wanted to disclose in Brussels at the beginning of Sharon's trial over the Sabra and Shatilla massacres.

The paper said that minister Hobeiqa also stressed he recorded his story relating to the massacres and handed copies of the recording to lawyers.
