Iraqi forces intercepted British, American warplanes formations

Iraqi missile and artillery forces on Friday intercepted American and British warplanes which were flying to the north of Iraq and forced them to flee away.
An Iraqi spokesman said on Friday that the Iraqi missiles and artillery defense means intercepted several British and American warplanes formations escorted by an AWACS plane which carried out 14 armed sorties over areas in the provinces of Dahouk, Irbil, and Ninoa to the north of Iraq and forces them to flee away.
The spokesman stressed that number of American and British sorties over north Iraq and its south tolled 36584 armed sorties since the American- British attacks against Iraq in December 1998..
