Iraqi foreign minister arrives in Tehran

The Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri al-Hadeithi on Friday arrived in Iran in a visit which will last for 4 days during which he will be meeting with the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami and with the Foreign minister Kamal Kharazi and also with high ranking Iranian officials.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister for international affairs Muhammad Jawad Zarif said that the aim of the visit of the Iraqi delegation is to dissolve pending issues between the two countries concerning humanitarian issues especially the prisoners.

In a statement he expressed hope that the two sides will reach an ultimate solution to this problem so as to be an introduction to solve other problems and restore back relations between the two countries to the natural course.
