Oman's foreign trade booms

A statistical bulletin issued by the National Economy Ministry stated that the Sultanate's foreign trade had witnessed a boom during the first nine month of last year as the total value of commodity exports rose by 6.1% to RO 3334.8 million compared to RO 3144 million during the corresponding period in 2000, The Oman News Agency reported.
This rise was due to a 4.7% increase in the oil and gas exports which amounted to RO.2705.7 million against RO. 2584.8 million during the same period in 2000.
Non oil commodity exports also rose by 9.6% during the same period to RO. 203.5 million compared to RO. 185.7 million in 2000.
Commodity imports also rose by 11.8% during the same period to RO.1578.4 million against RO. 1411.5 million during the corresponding period in 2000.
