Jordanian FM confers with US representative at UN

The Jordanian foreign minister Marwan al-Mashar on Thursday discussed with the US representative at the UN John Negro- Ponty, currently visiting Jordan several regional and international issues.
During the meeting al-Mashar underlined the importance of the continued American role in the ME peace process especially in light of the escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the need of starting immediately the implementation of the Michael package and the Tenet plan for resuming the peace process.
For his part, the US official said that his country will continue making efforts to help the two Palestinian and Israeli sides to return back to the table of negotiations.
