A message from Arafat to the Iraqi President

The Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on Tuesday received a message from the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat relating to the developments of conditions in the Palestinian territories.
The Palestinian public works minister in the Palestinian authority Azzam al-Ahmad who conveyed the message to the Iraqi President, quoted the the Iraqi president as stressing his support to the Palestinian leader and people and with Arafat, in person, as a leader and a symbol for the Palestinian people.
In press statements al-Ahmad said that the message dealt with " latest current developments in the Arab territories and current preparations to convene the next Arab summit in Beirut." He added that the message stated the need of work and preparedness to provide the next Arab summit a success, to reinforce common Arab work, and bolster joint Arab efforts to withstand challenges facing the Arab nation and its future under the " Zionist brutal aggression."
Al-Ahmad arrived in Baghdad on Monday delegated by Arafat, in the framework of a tour which will lead him to Sanaa and al-Khartoum to convey written messages to the leaderships of the two countries.
