Mubarak, Zemin attend signing of five cooperation agreements

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and President Jiang Zemin Wednesday attended the signing of five agreements on cooperation between Egypt and China in the fields of science, technology, using atomic energy for peaceful means and tourism.
The ceremony was also attended by members of the Egyptian and Chinese delegations.
Upon the first agreement, China offers to Egypt a 100 million-Yuan loan (one dollar is equivalent to 8.2 Yuan), the second agreement is on a 30-million-yuan grant to Egypt.
The two agreements were signed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Fayza Abul Naga, while the Chinese Deputy Minister of Trade signed for China.
The third agreement covers cooperation between Egypt and China in the field of the use of atomic energy in peaceful means, signed by Foreign Minister Ahmad Maher and the Chinese Minister of Science and Technology.
The fourth agreement is a framework of cooperation in the field of oil, signed by Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali and the head of the Chinese State Committee for Planning.
The fifth agreement is an understanding between the Chinese National Authority for Tourism and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, signed by Maher and the head of the Chinese authority.
