Ebeid reviews efforts exerted to attract more tourists

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid yesterday presided over a meeting of the Higher Tourism Council.
Atef Ebeid stressed at the meeting that all efforts should be mobilized to increase the flow of tourists to Egypt in the coming stage with the aim of increasing the country's foreign currency income from tourism.
Minister of Tourism Mamdouh Beltagui said the rate the flow of tourists to Egypt dropped to 54.5 per cent in November following the September 11 events, but it rose again December.
"The tourist movement is expected to rise gradually and return to its normal rates in Spring and Autumn," the minister said.
"Promotion campaigns will be launched in Russia, China ,commonwealth countries and Japan in addition to Arab countries" he said.
