Saudi Arabian aid to Afghanistan

The Saudi minister of finance and the economy Ibrahim Bin Abdul Aziz al-Assaf has stressed that Saudi Arabia will continue its pioneering role in supporting Afghanistan economically and politically under the Interim Afghani administration.
In a statement to the London- based al-Hayat daily issued on Tuesday, he announced that Saudi Arabia will provide USD 220 million to the developmental projects in Afghanistan.
He added we will continue our role and efficiency in helping the Afghans and all Islamic states. He indicated that there is a people's committee in Saudi Arabia for providing aids to the people of Afghanistan and that it raised more than USD 40 million. He added that Saudi Arabia will also provide Afghanistan with smooth loans from the Saudi Fund for development.
