Agreement for joint cooperation between Egypt and Sudan

Egyptian Deputy Premier, Minister of Agriculture Youssef Wali Signed an agreement with the Sudanese National Congress Party Secretary General Ibrahim Ahmed Omar to push cooperation between the two states in political, economic, media and intellectual fields.

Moreover, the agreement aims at coordinating between the parties committees and secretariats and to intensify joint cooperation in the sectors of youth, women, syndicates and civil society organizations.

The Sudanese official met during his visit to Egypt with President Mubarak and a number of ministers and leaderships.

He also met with chairman of Sudanese unionist party and the opposition National Democratic alliance Mohamed Othman Al-Merghany and discussed means of cooperation to push the Egyptian Libyan initiative forward so as to realize peace in Sudan.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Omar late Monday hailed Egyptian-Sudanese relations as excellent at all levels.

In statements prior to his departure, Omar lauded President Hosni Mubarak's efforts to give momentum to bilateral relations and achieve national reconciliation in Sudan.

The delegation accompanying Omar comprises a number of senior Sudanese officials, including the education minister
