European official deplores persistence of Morocco-Spain crisis

European Union High representative for foreign policy and security, Javier Solana, deplored on the persistence of the Moroccan-Spanish crisis and said he is ready to act for reconciliation between the two countries.

In a debate broadcast by Spanish TVE 1, the European official deplored the persistence of the crisis between Morocco and Spain, which obstructs discussions on issues of common interest.

Morocco has called back its ambassador for consultation following a series of anti-Moroccan attitudes by Spanish authorities. Morocco argues that this hostility is dictated by Morocco's refusal to renew a fisheries agreement with teh European Union.
