Former Algerian president says Maghreb union a common destiny

Former Algerian president Ahmed Ben Bella, who started on Monday a visit to Morocco said the Arab Maghreb Union is a common destiny that needs to see the light of the day.
Ben Bella who is leading an Algerian delegation of historians and former members of the liberation army, that will part in a colloquy entitled "Maghreban Unity in the Memory of Resistance Movements and the Liberation Army" said the history of joint resistance and struggle (by Maghreban peoples against occupiers) are a solid platform for this union.
"We have conducted a considerable work in the struggle for liberation and succeeded in weaving solid ties between liberation movements," he went on describing the colloquy as a happy initiative in the path of Magheban unification "a dream we have cherished for long as we were fighting colonizers."
The Colloquy on Maghreban Unity in the Memory of Resistance Movements and the liberation Army will take place in Rabat January 24 through 26.
