Morocco-Oman, Politics, 1/22/2002

Morocco's King Mohammed VI received Tuesday a message from Sultan Qabous Ibn Said of Oman.

The message was handed to the king by Youssef Ben Alaoui Ben Abdallah, foreign minister of Oman.

During the audience, the Omani envoy informed King Mohammed VI on the outcome of the latest summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held in Omani capital city of Muscat.

The GCC musters Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

The king asked the envoy to convey his brotherly greetings to Sultan Qabous and voiced satisfaction over the outcome of the GCC summit, likely to contribute to the consolidation of Arab action.

King Mohammed VI equally lauded the excellent level of Moroccan-Omani cooperation as well as the continuous consultation between Rabat and Muscat.

Foreign affairs and cooperation minister, Mohamed Benaissa attended the meeting.
