Arab interior ministers' session opens on January 29 in Beirut

The Arab interior ministers' session that opens on January 29, held for the first time in Beirut, will look into a report of the secretary general on activities in 2001, a report of Prince Nayef Ben Abdelaziz, Saudi home minister, on the Nayef Arab academy on security sciences and other reports on conventions, strategies and plans adopted by the council.

The Arab home ministers will also study recommendation adopted by various meetings held by the secretariat general in 2001, including the Arab road safety strategy and supporting the Palestinian police.

On the agenda are also items related to the impact of last September 11 events, latest security developments on the international level, in addition to a number of new laws and strategies concerning the exchange of criminals, traffic laws, combating crime, security training, fighting drugs and environmental security.
