Morocco, Local, 1/22/2002
Morocco's Princess Lalla Meryem, chiarwoman of the national observatory of children rights, has issued instructions to set up a commission made of members of the observatory to investigate the death of a girl after being raped.
After raping and sequestering the nine-year-old Loubna, the criminal tried to hide her body. The corpse was found in a cheap hotel in the eastern city of Oujda.
A statement of the observatory denounced the crime and considers sexual abuses against children a plague that requires a bold and urgent solution from all competent parties.
The observatory also says it will carry on its action to secure children all their rights and an efficient protection, in accordance with high instructions of King Mohammed VI.
