Al- Shara discusses with Sheikh al-Salem, Hammoud the question of the summit, Israeli aggression

The deputy premier and foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Monday evening in Damascus received the delegation representing the state of Kuwait led by Sheikh Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah, the minister of state for foreign affairs and members of the accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by the deputy foreign minister and senior foreign ministry officials.

Discussions dealt with developments of regional and international conditions, especially the escalated Israeli aggression against our unarmed people in the occupied territories.

Discussions also dealt with bilateral relations between Syria and Kuwait and joint issues. The two sides discussed the need of revitalizing Arab solidarity and enhancing the role played by the Arab League and the importance of the Arab summit due to be held in Beirut by the end of March.

On Monday morning al-Shara received a telephone call from the Lebanese foreign minister Mahmoud Hammoud during which consultations dealt with issues of mutual concern especially the issue of the Arab summit.
