WHO praises Egypt's experiment to provide medicine
Egypt, Health, 1/21/2002
The World Health Organization (WHO) hailed the Egyptian experiment in providing basic medicine for the patients in public hospitals, which hit 1,000 kinds of pharmaceuticals while the main list laid by the Organization contains only 320.
The WHO said this trend on the part of the Egyptian health ministry aims at protecting the poor patients and getting ready to cope with the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Right (TRIPS), said Minister of Health Ismail Sallam. Sallam headed the Egyptian delegation in the four-day meetings of the WHO held recently in Geneva.
